We re-discovered Wired for Sound, Sir Cliff Richard’s iconic music video, 37 years after it was released, and inspired by the location they used, the colour palette, and the dynamics of the editing, we decided to create a gentle homage to his work. See below Bear and Pine’s take on the 80s, with kids!

One thing that pops to mind when thinking of the 80s fashion is bright colours. And crazy hair styles. (And roller skates and walkmans, which I would have loved to use, but didn’t want to shoot the very same video again. My aim was to transport it into our time for a new audience.)

The fabulous patterned tiles in Centre:MK, the palm tree lined, wide avenues, and the huge spaces are all intact since 1981. It was a wonderful place to shoot at, I totally understand why Sir Richard chose to film his music video there. I can’t say thank you enough for the team at Centre:MK for supporting our project, and allowing us access to their stores to choose outfits from. Also to Saskia Lyons, the super talented makeup artist, who regularly joins us for our major shoots. And to Bonnie and Betty Agency for sending us great little models!

Garments used: Monsoon, Next, Fat Face, Marks&Spencer.
